By using BS Meter you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
BS Meter listens to a short video you share to it, works out which statements in it are checkable facts, checks each against sources on the web, and shows you what it found. It shows the sources behind every verdict so you can judge them yourself.
It is not a professional, legal, medical or financial opinion, and it is not a substitute for one. It does not tell you what to believe. Use your own judgement, and read the sources.
The app includes a set number of checks per month. The number is shown in the app under Settings, and your usage resets at the start of each calendar month.
If a paid plan is offered, it is billed through Google Play, and Google's payment terms and refund policy apply to the payment itself. You can cancel at any time from your Google Play subscriptions; cancelling stops the next payment, and you keep what you have paid for until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not take payment details ourselves and never see your card.
We may change the price or the allowance. If we do, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
Check videos you are watching. That is what it is for.
Please do not: try to get past the monthly allowance by making accounts repeatedly; automate the app or send it traffic that is not a person using it; or resell access to it. We may stop serving an account or a device that does.
The app will sometimes be wrong. It is a computer reading a transcript and searching the web. It mishears words, it misses context, and some questions genuinely cannot be settled — in which case it is built to say so rather than guess.
Two things follow, and we would rather write them down than rely on you assuming them:
If you think a verdict is wrong, email support@thepocketappcompany.com with the video and what you think it got wrong. We read those.
The app plays a video you have shared to it from its own public page, listens to it, and checks what was said. It does not download, copy, store or republish anybody's video, and it never sends the video or its audio anywhere — the words are worked out on your phone and only the text is checked.
The videos and everything in them belong to the people who made them. Nothing here claims otherwise.
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. You can delete your account separately — see Deleting your account. We may stop providing the service, or close an account that is breaking section 4; if we close the service entirely and you have paid for a period, we will refund the part you have not used.
We will provide the app with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Beyond that: we are not responsible for a decision you make because of a verdict, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are not affected by these terms — in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you rights that cannot be signed away.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top says when they last changed.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the right to bring a claim where you live.
