Mucknotes — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

Mucknotes ("the app", "we", "us") is a livestock and equine record-keeping app published by The Pocket App Company. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: support@thepocketappcompany.com.

What we collect

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or biometric data, and we do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Voice and audio

Mucknotes is voice-first, and we handle audio conservatively:

AI processing

Optional AI features (structuring a dictated note, and the Pro "summarize" / "ask about my animals" features) send the relevant text — your transcript or a compact export of your own records — to our Cloud Functions proxy, which calls Anthropic's API to return the result. The AI answers only from the text we send it, is instructed not to give veterinary medical advice, and neither we nor the provider use your content to train models. If you never use these features, no record text is sent for AI processing.

Where your data lives (processors)

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions) to store your account and records and to run the app's backend, and Anthropic for the optional AI features described above. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are handled by the app store you purchased through (Apple App Store or Google Play) or by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Your choices and rights

Data retention

We keep your account and records until you delete them or close your account. Audio is never retained (see above).

Children

Mucknotes is a tool for animal owners and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
