Last updated: July 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PocketBoss ("PocketBoss," "we," "us," or "our"), a product of The Pocket App Company, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the PocketBoss application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

PocketBoss is an invoicing and small-business management app for solo traders and freelancers. It lets users create and send invoices and quotes, accept payments, schedule bookings, manage customers, and send service-related notifications to their own customers.

For the purposes of this policy, a "User" is a business owner who uses PocketBoss to run their business, and a "Customer" is an end client of that User (for example, the person receiving an invoice or appointment reminder).

2. Information we collect

Information Users provide:

Information collected automatically:

We do not collect more information than is necessary to provide the Service.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. When a Customer pays an invoice or deposit, their payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy and security standards. PocketBoss does not store full payment card numbers on its servers. We receive limited transaction information (such as payment status and amount) to mark invoices as paid.

5. SMS / text messaging

PocketBoss enables Users to send service-related text messages to their Customers through our messaging provider, Twilio. These messages are transactional and may include booking confirmations, appointment reminders, "on the way" alerts, quote follow-ups, and invoice or payment notifications.

Consent: A Customer's mobile number is collected by the User when the User creates a booking, adds the Customer, or generates an invoice in PocketBoss. By providing their mobile number, the Customer agrees to receive service-related text messages from that User via PocketBoss. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Mobile information is not shared: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile numbers and consent are used solely to deliver the service-related messages described above.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies and depends on activity in the User's account (for example, when an appointment is scheduled or an invoice becomes due).

Rates: Message and data rates may apply.

Opt-out and help: Customers can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. For assistance, Customers can reply HELP. After opting out, a Customer will no longer receive text messages from that User via PocketBoss.

6. Email

PocketBoss may send email notifications (such as invoices, quotes, and receipts) on behalf of Users through our email provider, SendGrid. These emails are transactional and relate to the User's business activity.

7. How information is stored and protected

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Functions, and related services) with industry-standard security measures.
