Terms of Service

Last updated: July 7, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PocketBoss application and related services (the "Service"), provided by The Pocket App Company ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

PocketBoss is an invoicing and small-business management tool for solo traders and freelancers. It allows you to create and send invoices and quotes, accept payments, schedule and manage bookings, manage customers, track expenses and mileage, and send service-related notifications to your customers.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the information you provide, for maintaining the security of your account credentials, and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Your responsibilities when using messaging

If you use PocketBoss to send text messages or emails to your customers, you agree that:

You are responsible for your communications with your customers. The Service provides the tools; you are the sender of your messages.

4. Payments and fees

Payment processing within PocketBoss is provided by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's terms and policies. You are responsible for the accuracy of invoices and amounts you create, for any taxes applicable to your business, and for resolving disputes with your customers. We are not a party to transactions between you and your customers.

Any fees for the Service itself will be disclosed to you before they apply.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the business and customer data you enter into the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you (for example, to deliver an invoice or send a reminder on your behalf). Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to enter and use any customer information you provide.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), SendGrid (email), and Google Firebase (hosting and data storage). Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time.

9. Disclaimers

10. Limitation of liability

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Pocket App Company from any claims, losses, or damages, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Service, your content, your communications with your customers, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
