Almoner — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Almoner ("the app", "we", "us") is a church giving-reporting app published by The Pocket App Company. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: support@thepocketappcompany.com.

What we collect

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or biometric data, and we do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.

Donor information

Giving records are sensitive, and we treat them that way:

AI processing

The optional AI report summary sends only the code-computed aggregate figures (totals, counts, trends) to our Cloud Functions proxy, which calls Anthropic's API to write a short narrative for your board packet. Donor names and individual gifts are never sent to the AI, the AI is instructed to invent no numbers and give no financial advice, and neither we nor the provider use your content to train models. If you never use this feature, no data is sent for AI processing.

Where your data lives (processors)

We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions) to store your account and church data and to run the app's backend, and Anthropic for the optional AI summary described above. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are handled by the app store you purchased through (Apple App Store or Google Play) or by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Your choices and rights

Data retention

We keep your account and church data until you delete them or close your account.

Children

Almoner is a tool for church administrators and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
