Almoner — Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 July 2026

These terms govern your use of Almoner ("the app"), published by The Pocket App Company ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Almoner is

Almoner is a reporting tool for churches: you import giving exports (CSV or spreadsheet), and the app produces giving reports, board-packet PDFs, and year-end donor giving statements. An optional AI feature writes a short narrative summary from the code-computed figures.

2. Not tax, legal, or accounting advice

Almoner does not provide tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice. Reports, statements, and any AI-generated text are informational only and are based on the data you import. Year-end statements are produced from your records using standard IRS acknowledgment language, but your church remains responsible for verifying their accuracy and for its own tax and legal compliance. Consult a qualified professional for tax or legal decisions.

3. Your account and your church

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must be authorized by your church to import and manage its giving data, and you are responsible for who you add as members of your church in the app. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

4. Your content

Your church keeps all rights to the data you import and enter. You grant us the limited right to store and process that content solely to operate the app for you (including sending aggregate figures to our AI provider when you use the AI summary, as described in the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the accuracy of what you import and for having the right to import it.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Almoner is a paid subscription with a free trial; plans are priced by church size and renew automatically until cancelled. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe. Manage or cancel a store subscription in your App Store or Google Play account; store purchases are subject to that store's terms and refund policies. Prices may change on notice for future billing periods.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the app: no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload, reverse- engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data, and no use that infringes others' rights (including importing data you are not authorized to hold).

7. Availability

We aim to keep the app working but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Keep your own copies of source exports; the app is a reporting layer, not your system of record. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Pocket App Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or tax-related outcomes, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Settings → Account). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
